Jan 20th Prompt: Much of this section focuses on Cheryl’s physical exhaustion and discomfort. Describe a moment when your body limited what you could do, and explain what that experience taught you about your mental strength.

Response: When I first wanted to start taking competitive fights I had to increase my training intensity by a lot. I found that I was physically limited by my cardio a lot. I would gas out and I would struggle to even defend properly. I realized that no matter how strong I am mentally to keep going I needed to have a strong body.

Jan 16th Prompt: Write about a time you didn’t feel like yourself.

Response: I didn't feel like myself when I lost my childhood dog. I grew up with that dog and had her as long as I had been born. We had to put her down when I got into my freshman year of high school. After she passed I didn't feel like myself at all as she was family.

Jan 15th Prompt: Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

Response: I feel most at peace when I am in the Georgia mountains. I have been going up there all my life and feel very comfortable and at peace there. It's very quiet and calm up there and it is hard to not feel at peace.

Jan 13th Prompt: Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

Response: I had to rely on my dad when I was first learning to shoot. I had no idea what I was doing and was scared I would hurt myself or something else but he walked me through it. I had to rely on his expertise so that I could do it right.

Jan 12th In Wild, Cheryl Strayed writes about the difference between deciding to do something and actually committing to it: “There was the first, flip decision to do it, followed by the second, more serious decision to actually do it.” Reflect on a time in your own life when you made a quick or casual decision that later required a deeper commitment. Describe what changed between the first decision and the moment you realized you truly had to follow through. What fears, challenges, or responsibilities became real once the decision was no longer just an idea?

Response: I remember when I decided to make my amateur debut. I didn't know if I was ready or not but my coach thought so. I was anxious and on the edge about actually competing. However after getting closer to the competition I felt really good. I was in great shape and decided then and there not to just compete but to dominate and win.

Jan 9th Prompt: Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

Response: A time where I had to step out of my comfort zone is when I made my amateur debut and had my first kickboxing fight. I was stressed out and nervous for the 2 months leading up to it. But that pushed me to put in the work. On fight day I was much calmer than I thought I would be. I knew I had done everything I could to prepare. When it was time to fight I ended up dominating him all three rounds and doing exactly what I trained to do.

Jan 8th Prompt: Describe a hike, long walk, or outdoor experience you have had and explain what it was like physically and mentally. If you have never been on a hike, describe a time when you were outside your comfort zone or had to rely on yourself in a challenging situation. Explain what you learned from the experience.

Response: I went Rucking one time in the mountains. I filled my backpack with rocks and went through a trail. It wasn't very long but it was my first time rucking. I thoroughly enjoyed rucking as hiking is not physically intensive enough for me. I love physically pushing myself which made me feel motivated throughout the hike.

Jan 6th Prompt: In 2–3 well-developed sentences, reflect on how you spent your Holiday Break. Then, identify four personal you would like to achieve this year and briefly explain why each goal is important to you (Copy and paste your completed response from Writable into your blog).

Response: Most of my break was very uneventful as I was very sick with the worst case of the flu I've had. By the time I had recovered I needed to get a lot of more hours in at work. So to sum up my winter break most of it was spent either bedridden or at work.   1.   I want to work at least 10 hours a week.   I want  to earn  and save some  money   and I can only do that by working. 2.  I want to plan more time to work on school assignments daily.   I want to finish strong this  semester   and I believe planning to do some  schoo l work  every day will help a lot. 3.  I want to develop a consistent daily routine where I accomplish all my goals.   Sometimes I find it difficult to find  time  for everything.  I believe  planning  my days out better would help. 4.  I want to work out 5 days a week for at least an hour .  A workout routine will help me reach  a lot of  ot...
